"When I don't want to change myself, how I could I expect change from other people ?"
-Nelson Mandela

Give up yourself -> find your real self

“You never make a good impression on other people until you stop thinking what sort of impression you make. That principle runs all through life from the top to the bottom. Give up yourself and you will find your real self. Lose your life and you will save it. Submit to death, submit with every fibre of your being and you will find eternal life.

( C.S Lewis )

Oh that is so true what C.S Lewis says here. Often we think too much about us, and our impressions to other people.

C.S Lewis says here : “Give up yourself and you find your real self.” And that is exactly what the bible says, because we are imperfect, yes you are not perfect when you didn’t know that, now you know :D

No one has the right to expect that you’re perfect.

When you loose your life, and surrender it to Jesus Christ, then you will save it, and as a result you will find your real self. You’ll have eternal life.

Try it :) Because when you don’t try, you’ll never know :)

Yeees, there is no part 2 of the topic ” Time “.
But I really want to write about something that is burning on my heart for a long time.
It’s about fear. As Nelson Mandela said : “Our deepest fear is not that we are indequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.”
I love this speech of Nelson Mandela and everyone who knows me better know that I know this speech by heart.
Often people are full of fear, but from what are they scared ? I came to the conclusion that we are the ones that make us scared. Or other people make us scared of ourselves. ( A bit confusing, I know )
So what you’ll do ? —> Punch fear in the face !
BECAUSE —> There is nothing enlightened about shrinking that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We we’re born to make manifest out of God. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciouly give other people the permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. ( Nelson Mandela )

(Ti)Me. Part 1.

The topic I’m thinking about the last few days is time.

I asked myself ” Do I spend my time right ? Do I spend my time in reasonable things ?”

These are hard questions to answer. I came to the conclusion that sometimes my head is so full of thoughts/words/actions, that I often forget what really important is in life. Sometimes I spend too much time in “Me”, but this little world is not about me. ( So a question for you to think, what is it about, when not about me ? ;) )

For myself I know that the only solution is the surrender of my toughts/words/actions to Jesus Christ. I mean, he invent thoughts/words/actions ! So who could better deal with these things as the one who invented it ? Rhetorical question :)

(Part 2 will come.)

Grace is higher placed than justice.

In the last post I told you about my distinct sense of justice. Today I want to tell you what I learned the last few days.

In the bible God says : “Learn to do well, seek judgement,…,…”

In the dictionary the word ” judgement ” signify ” divine justice” and ” understanding”. In my Study Bible it is written under this verse ( in Isaiah 1 / 17 ) if a person is truly right with God, he will also treat his fellow man right.

So what is ” divine justice ” ? In the book ” Revelation” in the bible you find many things about divine justice but that’s not what I want to show you today.

The answer : Grace is higher placed than justice.

Grace is directly connected with love !

One of my missions is that in my life, Grace shall be higher placed than justice.

One of my missions is loving the persons in my community just as they are, and I know it’ll be hard, but who is my daddy, huh ? :)

The distinct sense of justice.

Then he said to the crowd , ” If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways,… follow me. “

Jesus said this. In the last few weeks I recognized that I have a very distinct sense of justice. Especially when the situation is about the environment and me. So my question was : ” Is this selfish when I want my right, when I want my justice ? “

I asked Jesus to close down my distinct sense of justice to the ‘divine’ sense of justice. Grace is higher placed than justice.

Nelson Mandela said once : “When I don’t want to change myself, how could I expect from other people to change ? “

” Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then you faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. ” ( Colossians 2/7 )
I think it’s the deciding point where we have our roots. Where are we found in ? What is our purpose ? What do I believe ? Where I want to be lead ?
Where we have our roots will decide where we’ll go. Our roots are who we are.
So what this verse is saying us, is that when we have our roots in Jesus, the king of kings, the only true God, our faith will grow.
Faith ( in God ) should reign in our life. So what expects us when we let our roots grown into Jesus ?
Overflowing thankfulness for the overflowing.
